Kochi in a Day: From Jew Town to Marine Drive

We once attended a family gathering in Kochi, and with an entire day free to ourselves, we set out to wander through its vibrant streets and serene waterfronts. This enchanting city—celebrated as the Queen of the Arabian Sea —welcomed us with a blend of history, culture, and coastal charm that promised discovery at every turn. Kochi is a picturesque coastal destination, embraced by the Western Ghats to the east and the Arabian Sea to the west. The city boasts of a world-class port and an international airport, connecting it seamlessly to major cities across the globe. Its rich history is etched with the influences of Arabs, British, Jews, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese, all of whom have left lasting marks on Kochi’s cultural and architectural landscape. Our first stop was Jew Town, a lively quarter that once thrived as the hub of Kochi’s spice trade. Its narrow lanes are lined with antique shops and to...

Cranberry & Ginger Fizz

When we eat out, I like to order for mocktails which are brightly coloured, and to my luck they taste good. I like cranberry based drinks most of the time. I was having a party at home a couple of months back and was looking online for some recipes for mocktails, especially something which had cranberry in it. I found this one which had ginger ale in it. Mr. Peter likes ginger & mint, so I made a few changes to that original recipe, and it turned out really well. All our guests enjoyed it, and I've made it a couple of times already. This is a perfect drink during the summertime. When the temperatures are rising and it's really getting hot, it's essential that one stays hydrated all the time. It helps in cooling down. You can fix it up really quick and it's very easy to prepare. Try this summer drink which not only looks good but tastes great and is absolutely refreshing.  Ingredients: 1 cup cranberry juice 1 cup ginger ale 1/2 cup orange juice ...
